t-Shirt Story
My favorite T-shirt is a Spider-Man T-shirt I bought six or seven years ago. It’s covered with Spider-Man’s face all over, which now looks quite ridiculous—I’m even embarrassed to wear it outside. But it perfectly reflects my sympathy for Spider-Man at the time, especially because he lost Tony Stark in the final Avengers movie. That’s one of the reasons why I love this T-shirt so much—it carries memories and emotions.
At the same time, I feel like this is a T-shirt with a strong desire for expression. Even though it looks funny, it effectively communicates a message to others: I really like Spider-Man, so I’ve covered myself with his face. In fact, we can find many similar cases in event T-shirts. They are often used to express personal intentions or to convey messages to people around us. The most typical example would be promotional T-shirts, which usually feature just a logo. While the message isn’t as intense, the purpose is the same—spreading awareness of a brand.
Besides that, the quality of the T-shirt itself exceeded my expectations. Even after all these years, the collar hasn’t stretched out from washing. It only looks smaller because my body has changed. This made me curious about T-shirt fabrics and production techniques, such as cutting and edge finishing. A T-shirt may seem like an ordinary item, but the amount of information it carries is surprisingly rich.
